Lowe-Martin Wins GOLD at International Gallery Competition

The IAPHC International Gallery of Superb Printing, which in 2009 marks its 35th year of recognizing excellence in the arts and sciences of graphic communication, is produced annually by the IAPHC. The IAPHC Graphics Resource Network, is a trade association with a 90 year tradition of connecting persons in the graphic arts industry around the globe.

In 2009, entries from around the world were presented to a panel of International judges who evaluated the entries based on qualitative measures involving both technical execution and use of colour, ink, typography, paper and finishing techniques.

Twelve publications produced by Lowe-Martin received awards at this year’s competition including 7 Gold, 3 Silver, 1 Bronze and 1 Honourable Mention award. Lowe-Martin client publications that received recognition ranged from annual reports and event programs to fashion magazines and art books.

Lowe-Martin’s own Faces art book – a publication produced to celebrate Lowe-Martin’s 100th anniversary in business, also won Gold! This beautiful Smyth sewn, case bound book with debossing on the cover, is a collection of portraits of Lowe-Martin employees, and of members of their families - 1 portrait per year from 1908 to 2008.

LMG Wins GOLD at Environmental Printing Awards

For the second year in a row, The Lowe-Martin Group was presented with the GOLD AWARD for Most Environmentally Progressive Printer in Canada at the 4th Annual Environmental Printing Awards, held on February 12, 2009 at the Eglinton Grand in Toronto. Lowe-Martin also received GOLD and BRONZE awards for two print projects, in the Most Progressive Environmental Printing Project, Electrophotography category.

Lowe-Martin Recognized at 2008 Premier Print Awards

Two publications and 1 stamp printed by Lowe-Martin received Premier Print Awards in 2008. This award Program is put forth by Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), the world’s largest graphic arts trade association.

Environmental Printing Gold Award -
In 2008, the Lowe-Martin Group was presented with the GOLD AWARD for Most Environmentally Progressive Printer in Canada at the Third Annual Environmental Printing Awards. The prestigious award was presented by PrintAction magazine to Lowe-Martin based on our holistic strategy to lessen the environmental impact of our products and services.

In 2008, 10 publications and 2 stamps printed by Lowe-Martin were Award winners in the 34th International Gallery of Superb Printing. The annual International Gallery of Superb Printing is a testament to the people and companies involved in producing the finest printing and graphic arts products throughout the world. The Lowe-Martin award winning items were selected for the quality of their printing (e.g. 10 micron stochastic printing), for their special finishes (e.g. foil stamping), and for the emerging printing technology used.
