Posted On: Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009Lowe-Martin Wins GOLD at International Gallery CompetitionThe IAPHC International Gallery of Superb Printing, which in 2009 marks its 35th year of recognizing excellence in the arts and sciences of graphic communication, is produced annually by the IAPHC. The IAPHC Graphics Resource Network, is a trade association with a 90 year tradition of connecting persons in the graphic arts industry around the globe. In 2009, entries from around the world were presented to a panel of International judges who evaluated the entries based on qualitative measures involving both technical execution and use of colour, ink, typography, paper and finishing techniques. Twelve publications produced by Lowe-Martin received awards at this year’s competition including 7 Gold, 3 Silver, 1 Bronze and 1 Honourable Mention award. Lowe-Martin client publications that received recognition ranged from annual reports and event programs to fashion magazines and art books. Lowe-Martin’s own Faces art book – a publication produced to celebrate Lowe-Martin’s 100th anniversary in business, also won Gold! This beautiful Smyth sewn, case bound book with debossing on the cover, is a collection of portraits of Lowe-Martin employees, and of members of their families - 1 portrait per year from 1908 to 2008. Lowe-Martin also received GOLD and BRONZE awards for two print projects, in the Most Progressive Environmental Printing Project, Electrophotography category.
