PURCHASING AGENT
Location: Ottawa; potential for Mississauga
Summary of responsibilities/Sommaire des responsabilités:
• Daily data entry
• Procurement of paper and direct materials (other than paper)
• Procurement of plant departmental supplies.
• Communicate any difficulties in meeting required deliveries for products.
• Track all material ordered.
• Extensive verbal and e-mail correspondence internally and externally
• Adherence to deadlines
• Cross training for departmental coverage
Experience/Expérience:
• Previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
• PMAC certification (completed or in process) is an asset
• Contract negotiation experience is preferred
Abilities/Capacités:
• Bilingualism is an asset, strong communication skills are required
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure and/or tight deadlines
• Ability to work well with limited supervision
• Attention to detail and accuracy, good organizational skills and ability to “follow-up” required
• Strong analytical and math skills
Knowledge/Connaissances:
• Working knowledge of computer skills including Word, Excel and e-mail
• Knowledge of Purchasing practices and procedures
