QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR

Location: Ottawa - St. Laurent Blvd

Summary of Responsibilities:
The QC Inspector is responsible for checking samples, spot checks of work in process, filing of samples and QA Inspection records. The inspector would also participate in non-conformance investigations by gathering information and working with the team in finding resolution. Specific responsibilities include but are not restricted to:

• Inspecting product
• Gathering time stamps and assuring lables and files are correct
• Conducting audits during production runs
• Participating in non-conformance investigations
• Assisting in other areas of the plant when required

Experience:
• Formal training in the area of Quality Control and/or at least 2 years QC experience in a printing environment is preferred;
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Printing and Bindery
• Experience in a QC role in a manufacturing environment is considered to be an asset

Abilities:
• Excellent communication (written and inter-personal), organizational and leadership skills
• Must be tactful and use discretion when pointing out concerns
• Ability to troubleshoot, make decisions and achieve company goals
• Strong decision-making skills under tight deadlines
• Respond quickly to internal demands and customer needs
• Ability to spend prolonged periods of time in a production environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
• Able to balance and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to take a logical and methodical approach to the work
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs
• Basic computer skills required
• Strong numerical and math skills required

Knowledge:
• Knowledge and understanding of Quality Control procedures, and measuring skills
• Knowledge and understanding of ISO procedures
• Understanding of Printing and Bindery processes is strongly preferred

Education:
• Completion of secondary education and/or equivalent
• Applicants with related education and/or relevant experience will be considered
