<p>The Senior Purchasing Agent function is responsible for ensuring that he/she provides the maximum benefit to Lowe-Martin from the supply market, both on the short term and on the long term structure of the business. </p>
<p>The objective for the Senior Purchasing Agent is to manage and optimize the provision of goods and services from all Lowe-Martin suppliers to effectively meet the internal business needs and ultimately the expectations of our external customers.</p>
<p>The Senior Purchasing Agent will participate in business service and product planning, and must have an intimate knowledge of and thorough understanding of the current and emerging supply markets relating to the specific needs of the business.  This includes the paper and printing industries as well as generic contract management.</p>
<p>Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks and areas:</p>
<p>•     Cost management and cost improvements<br />
•     Lead-time and order cycle-time reduction<br />
•     Time (speed) to execute efficiency improvements<br />
•     Product quality and reliability improvements<br />
•     Creating, tracking, monitoring and maintaining Purchase Order deliveries and liaising with production coordinators to administer changes with minimal impact to production schedules<br />
•     Communicating with, evaluating and approving vendors to ensure their ability to meet company business requirements, goals and objectives<br />
•     Negotiating prices, credit terms, rebates, contracts and delivery arrangements with suppliers<br />
•     Solving problems with suppliers and vendors regarding costs, quality, quantity and delivery of goods purchased<br />
•     Performing on-going reviews of products, services, and equipment usage to identify all opportunities for cost savings<br />
•     Resolving invoicing discrepancies and approval for payments<br />
•     Adhering to all ISO procedures and departmental policies and procedures<br />
•     Ensuring that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Lowe-Martin Group Code of Business Conduct<br />
•     Technology development enhancement and knowledge transfer</p>
<p><strong>Experience: </strong></p>
<p>The Senior Purchasing Agent will have excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills and will be drawn from all disciplines in business.<br />
•  Minimum of five (5) &#8211; seven (7) years of purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment (within the Print Industry is preferred)<br />
•  Strong understanding of the tendering process, contract development skills, language and applications, terms and conditions<br />
•  Proven effective negotiation skills</p>
<p><strong>Abilities &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p>
<p>The candidate must show clear examples of the following abilities:<br />

The inspector would also participate in non-conformance investigations by gathering information and working with the team in finding resolution. The bilingual (English/French) CS Team Leader is responsible for managing customer service for all e-Business customers within the Lowe-Martin Group.  This will include a combination of direct client service responsibilities as well as supervising all CSA staff on a daily basis.  The client service responsibilities component is a “hands on”, troubleshooting, and problem solving position based on ensuring quality order processing, production, fulfillment and shipping for all e-Business orders.  The supervisory component of this position will be comprised of monitoring workload and quality for all CSA’s within the group, assigning tasks, managing performance, etc.  </p>
<p>Internally, all CSA’s have “end to end” process responsibility to organize and manager orders to the e-business division agreements with the client.</p>
<p>Externally, the CSA is involved in direct customer contact including helping users navigate websites, troubleshooting errors that users encounter, tracking user’s order status, providing information on product availability, and responding to user “help” emails as well as phone calls.</p>
<p><strong>Experience:</strong><br />
• Customer Service experience is required<br />
• Supervisory experience required<br />
• Computer skills are required<br />
• Experience in Printing is considered an asset<br />
• Completed relevant post-secondary education or 3-5 years of related business experience is required<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Summary of Responsibilities</strong>:<br />
We are looking for an individual to join the eBusiness team. This role involves working on a small core team of senior software developers who are developing enhancement to our web-based applications and supporting custom initiatives for our customers.<br />
Custom applications automates the unique customer requirements by exploiting leading-edge technologies in areas such as mobile computing, marketing strategies, automated quality print generation, database and business intelligence integration while interfacing business transactions to corporate financial systems for Lowe-Martin and our customers.<br />
This position will provide the individual to exercise their current developer skills and deploy solutions  utilizing new learned improved software and programming techniques to meet ever changing customer demands.</p>
<p><strong>Experience</strong>:<br />
• 3 years minimum with program experience (JavaScript, Ruby On Rails, PHP, .ASP).<br />
• Over 4 years Linux operating system experience.<br />
• Familiarity with Windows-based Applications.<br />
• Strong database background with SQLServer, MySQL, DB2 and/or Oracle.<br />
• Involved with Social Media concepts and application familiarity.<br />
• Experience in programmatically interfacing with third party application.</p>
<p><strong>Abilities</strong>:<br />
• Willingness to learn new processes and technologies are required<br />
• Strong attention to detail and quality consciousness are essential<br />
• Organized and self-motivated – sense of urgency<br />
• Take responsibility for a task and meet project timeline<br />
• Customer and Service oriented<br />
• Able to work well independently and in a team environment<br />
• Able to function well under pressure and meet tight deadlines</p>
<p><strong>Knowledge</strong>:<br />
• Working Knowledge of DB2, C++ is a plus<br />
•	Reference able experience with mobile computing applications would be an asset<br />
•	Applicants with related education and/or relevant experience will be considered</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The IAPHC International Gallery of Superb Printing, which in 2009 marks its 35th year of recognizing excellence in the arts and sciences of graphic communication, is produced annually by the IAPHC. The IAPHC Graphics Resource Network, is a trade association with a 90 year tradition of connecting persons in the graphic arts industry around the globe.</p>
<p>In 2009, entries from around the world were presented to a panel of International judges who evaluated the entries based on qualitative measures involving both technical execution  and use of colour, ink, typography, paper and finishing techniques.  </p>
<p>Twelve publications produced by Lowe-Martin received awards at this year’s competition including 7 Gold, 3 Silver, 1 Bronze and 1 Honourable Mention award. Lowe-Martin client publications that received recognition ranged from annual reports and event programs to  fashion magazines and art books. </p>
<p>Lowe-Martin’s own <em>Faces</em> art book  – a publication produced to celebrate Lowe-Martin’s 100th anniversary in business, also won Gold! This beautiful Smyth sewn, case bound book with debossing on the cover, is a collection of portraits of Lowe-Martin employees, and of members of their families  &#8211; 1 portrait per year from 1908 to 2008.</p>
