EVENING PRESS SUPERVISOR - OTTAWA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Evening Press Supervisor is responsible for coordinating work in the plant after regular business hours, while working under minimal supervision. As the main point of contact for plant communications and security after hours, responsibilities include:

  • Communicating directly with the Scheduling department, all production managers, Sales & CSR’s
  • Reviewing and discussing workload expectations with each department manager
  • Dealing directly with customers for after-hours press checks and proof approvals
  • Expediting jobs between all departments to ensure that on-time delivery will be met
  • Ensuring all Health & Safety, Security, and Quality procedures are adhered to
  • Training and orientation of new employees
  • Dealing directly with staff and staffing issues and reporting back to appropriate department manager as required
  • Monitoring network and Logic for continuous operation, and alerting appropriate department of any system failures

SHIFT: 4 days/ 10 hours per week OR 3 days/12 hours per week

EXPERIENCE:
  • 2-4 years experience in a Supervisory role
  • 3-5 years related print experience in Production / Operations
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Able to multi-task and work well with limited supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to establish effective solutions to complex situations
  • Exercise attention to detail
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and handle demanding deadlines
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning and self-development
KNOWLEDGE:
  • You must possess a solid knowledge of the printing process from prepress to the finished product as well as related procedures as applied at the Lowe-Martin Group.
  • Knowledge of internal Logic system is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of office automation software such as M.S. Word and Excel is required
  • Completion of High School or equivalent work-related experience required
