QUALITY CONTROL SUPERVISOR - OTTAWA

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance the responsibilities include:

  • Quality control checks on products at various phases of production and post production
  • Liaising with production staff on quality control issues
  • Ensuring procedures and processes are being adhered to throughout all the production areas
  • Assisting in the development and training of production personnel on new quality checks
  • Launching corrective action reports as required
  • Supporting day, night and weekend shifts as required
  • Assisting special processes & projects as required (includes security, secret, pharmaceutical, controlled and FSC related work)
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in quality control, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience in ISO and lean manufacturing considered an asset
  • Experience in the Printing industry considered an asset
Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, coaching and persuasion skills
  • Respond quickly to internal demands and customer needs
  • Able to trouble-shoot, quickly assess, analyze and respond to situations
  • Strong decision making ability
  • Ability to spend prolonged periods of time in a production environment moving between equipment
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Able to balance and manage multiple priorities
Knowledge:
  • Post secondary education, Printing related or Process Engineering preferred
  • Familiarity with quality control check techniques
  • General knowledge of standard and lean manufacturing processes and related practices
  • Computer skills – knowledge of MS Office suite including Excel and Word
