QUALITY CONTROL SUPERVISOR - OTTAWA
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance the responsibilities include:
- Quality control checks on products at various phases of production and post production
- Liaising with production staff on quality control issues
- Ensuring procedures and processes are being adhered to throughout all the production areas
- Assisting in the development and training of production personnel on new quality checks
- Launching corrective action reports as required
- Supporting day, night and weekend shifts as required
- Assisting special processes & projects as required (includes security, secret, pharmaceutical, controlled and FSC related work)
- Other duties as assigned
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in quality control, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience in ISO and lean manufacturing considered an asset
- Experience in the Printing industry considered an asset
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, coaching and persuasion skills
- Respond quickly to internal demands and customer needs
- Able to trouble-shoot, quickly assess, analyze and respond to situations
- Strong decision making ability
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time in a production environment moving between equipment
- Attention to detail is essential
- Able to balance and manage multiple priorities
Knowledge:
- Post secondary education, Printing related or Process Engineering preferred
- Familiarity with quality control check techniques
- General knowledge of standard and lean manufacturing processes and related practices
- Computer skills – knowledge of MS Office suite including Excel and Word
